I love burning candles. Specifically, candles from Soy Candles by Phebes. With over 100 lovely scents, they have something for everyone. They even have a lime citronella candle that we burn in our outdoor lanterns during the warmer months. They're much better smelling than regular citronella and work wonders! A few of my other favorites-
We've been burning their candles for several years now and I cannot recommend them enough. Let me list the ways that I love them- they're reasonably priced, smell absolutely divine (filling our house with wonderful, magical scents), are hypo-allergenic, eco-friendly (even the packaging is!), hand poured, almost completely soot free and it's a vegan owned and operated shop. We've tried many of their scents over the years and haven't been disappointed once. Besides all of that, you'll get free shipping with any order over $25 and excellent, fast service. There truly is no comparison.
They're also safe for not only humans but companion animals as well (the name of the shop itself came from the shop owner's beloved dog, Phoebe, which I think is such a great way to honor her!). Chemical, artifical scents can bother their sensitive noses and breathing in soot from petroleum based wax is absolutely horrendous for their health (as well as ours). Of course, you need to make sure the candles are in a spot that they cannot get at and you should also keep a watchful eye on it while it's burning, but you can rest assured that these will not be harmful to your furry one's health.
Right now they're having a great deal- buy 5 candles and get one free (as well as free shipping)! We stocked up for the cold months as well as to have gifts around for when we need them. High quality, great smelling candles are always a welcome gift. Besides, it's always nice to support vegan owned businesses!
I'll have to check these out. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat recommendation, thanks!! I can't wait to see the scents they have :) Looks like you definitely stocked up!
ReplyDeleteGood to know! I like candles but usually hate the fake chemical-y scents. Do you have any scent recommendations?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I'm always afraid scented candles will smell artificial so it's good to know there's a brand that doesn't. I love candles, especially in the winter.
ReplyDeleteWe light candles every night...summer, fall, spring and winter....maybe not quite so much in spring, don't know why. Thanks for letting us know about these.
ReplyDeleteBecause we burn them at dinner time, I don't veer towards scented candles...interferes with olfactory for the old food. But, I like scented candles for the bathroom sometimes and for various other situations....these sound intriguing...Puppy Breath? I'm so curious now.
I love soy candles! I'm fortunate enough to not have to pay for mine though. My mother-n-law makes and sells them. I've told her that she needs to open an Etsy account and sell them on there. She just started using wood wicks too which I love. I have a pumkin spice that I'm burning right now...it's is my fav! :o)
ReplyDeleteMelissa- let me know what you think of them if you get any!
ReplyDeletevava- I did stock up, a lot... lol The cupboard we keep them in smells so good!
foodfeud- I hate that chemical smell, too. My favorites are in the picture I posted, but there are several others I adore, too. Good Dog is a really nice one as are green tea & sweet grass.
Andrea- Candles in the cooler months when we can't open the windows are always welcome in our house. Makes me miss that fresh breeze through the house a bit less. :)
Rose- Puppy Breath is one of my absolute favorites. It smells so good! They really have some wonderful, creative scents.
Michelle- you're very lucky to get free candles! Pumpkin spice would smell great. Yum!
These look great - although if her experience of puppy breath is anything like mine I won't be ordering that one any time soon (blergh!) haha x
ReplyDeleteThe candles sound lovely, but I've gotten enough big candles as gifts, I believe I'm set for life. I'll keep them in mind though.
ReplyDeleteNicola- it's the good kind of puppy breath! lol
ReplyDeleteSV- that's great that you're so set from candle gifts! If you ever do run out, you know where to go now. :)
